WISCONSIN STONE-HOUSE WINDOW LIGHT
The 8 oclock slanting sunlight on this
frosty Sunday mid-March morning
bleaches the stains remaining
from my dreams in troubled
sleep but lets me see just how
filthy my wood-framed kitchen
windows have become in
a winters-long neglect.
In an hours time Im sure
the windows will remain
dusty
spattered
streaked &
cobwebbed
but they will be in shadow then
and something or someone
other than sunshine
will be pouring light
onto my dusty soul.
