MISTAKES HAVE BEEN MADE
I am sorry.
When I tried to tell you about writer Jane Mayer, I inaccurately recalled facts about Green Beret surgeon Jeffrey MacDonald, writer Joe McGinniss, and writer Janet Malcolm. Please disregard what I said about osteopathic physician Sam Sheppard.
If Janet Malcolm wrote, “Every journalist who is not too stupid or too full of himself to notice what is going on knows that what he does is morally indefensible,” I find I am now reluctant to disagree. ♦
