If, each time you sent me something, Al, I would write and tell you whether I instantly hit Delete or left it in my Inbox or chuckled and forwarded it to someone else, I suppose you might know me better, for whatever that might be worth. Today, sir, I will tell you this: I very much enjoyed the assortment of aphorisms you sent.
My favorite is #9, Scratch a dog & you'll find a permanent job. I love it for several good reasons, one of them literary, one of them generic, one of them specific to a beloved Labrador now gone.
I recently published an aphorism about aphorisms. One of my favorite aphorists is Piet Hein.
Greetings to your spouse. I am assuming the profusion of humorous e-mails comes from the retired guy with time on his hands and not from the younger fellow who still flies for a living.
Love, Dave

My favorite is #9, Scratch a dog & you'll find a permanent job. I love it for several good reasons, one of them literary, one of them generic, one of them specific to a beloved Labrador now gone.
A favorite aphorist of mine is the grookist Piet Hein.
Although I recently published an an aphorism about aphorisms, I hope someday to shrink one down to nothing, for some of the truest truths are truly best left unspoken.
Greetings to your spouse. I am assuming the profusion of humorous unsigned e-mails comes from the retired guy with time on his hands and not from the younger fellow who continues to fly for a living.
Love, Dave
