All Rights Reserved.   Harmless Snake, 2007 © 2007 by Bud Grossmann UP AND DOWN THROUGH THE GEARS Open your mouth in the presence of a woman and you run a risk of saying something that will swing back swift as a snake strike to bite you. Still I shouldn’t have to tell you some bites are deserved and some are more decidedly deadly than others and if you are a boy on a summer’s day in 1967 driving to the beach with a girl and she comments on how smoothly you shift your VW you smile with your mouth closed you squeeze her hand and you nod you keep your eyes on the road and you do NOT for God’s sake say aloud Thank you I’ve been watching your thighs and taking care not to cause them to jiggle. ♦         ARCHIVES         Click for a list of other Words of the Week I would welcome your thoughts on this page (or any of my others).  Write to me at the following address.  Please be sure to spell Grossmann with two n’s and mention what page you are writing about.
