We smiled at each other as we were walking to the entrance. You
got there ahead of me. If you see this by chance, what color was
my coat?

This is not me. Almost. Could have been. I wish this woman luck. I've been to the Farm & Fleet, Stoughton Road not Verona, and I've smiled at women there, this is true. Not that I dare hope they would write to me, but who knows. Never mind who gets to the door first, I smile at women if they meet my eyes. Up in Adams this morning, the ninth, I smiled at a woman outside the Ace Hardware. Didn't notice her coat. Sunny day, temperature at that time right around zero, and I thought, Lady, why are you not wearing a hat! Later, again in Adams, I shook the hand of a woman in the lobby of the Super 8, friend of a friend of mine. Now, this was different. I could tell you about her sweatshirt, front and back, name embroidered over her right breast. Her Ford pickup was idling in the covered drop-off lane right outside the glass doors, so I gave no thought at the time to her lack of a hat. I did take note of her hair. Don't know if the name on the sweatshirt, Cheryl, was the woman's name, my buddy didn't say, so I just smiled and didn't call her anything. This afternoon, coming back to Fjord, I made a couple stops in Ninian and smiled at a woman outside the Walmart. I'll watch Craigslist and see if she tries to look me up. I hope she doesn't ask the color of anything she wore. This lady at Farm & Fleet, seems to me she might want to wear her name on her coat, jacket, sweatshirt, possibly improve her chances of retrieving her missed connections. "We smiled. Did you see the name, white script on navy, across my right breast?" That might work. I can't speak for other guys, but me, I often neglect to memorize the color of a coat.
