subject: "Sick Dog Christians"—possible name for a rock band, what do you think?
I hope your doggie allowed you to get some sleep last night. I'm sixty-three years old, residing two time zones to the east of you, and in possession of Christian credentials perhaps of a different sort than yours.
If you and I end up conversing, maybe I'll tell you about a lady, someone I saw for the first time one afternoon this past week in the lobby of my little town's post office. She was a boxy-built, wide-eyed, bright-faced woman, somewhere around age forty, I would say, who, after reaching high to shut the door on her P.O. Box, performed several quick, odd shrugs and head turns and announced to me that she had knots in her neck from a hard day at work. She did not specify what that work might be. I murmured sympathetically and felt tempted to offer a shoulder rub, but while I was still thinking about it, she breezily said "God bless" and scooted out the door.
I am writing because you posted my all-time favorite example of sloganistic, drive-by evangelism. A church on a two-lane highway a mile outside my town displayed that same sign not long ago and made me chuckle. Next time I looked, however, the hand-hung lettering was gone, and a bright electronic sign had replaced it. What a shame, I thought. Another fine tradition diminished.
Good wishes to you and your ailing pet.
Sincerely,
G.J. Cartellino

Doggie is still under the weather but did manage to eat a bit very early this morning. I did stay up to observe him. He is too special to me to ignore. I am a lady who believes prayer can accomplish much when it comes from a person of faith; hence the request for a like minded believer to converse with. Thank you for your inquiry and God bless you.
