And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them,
and the glory of the Lord shone round about them:
and they were sore afraid.
After I dropped a pill on my dining room floor, I set a bright flashlight on the hardwood planks to look for it. I was astonished: the floor was filthy! I had swept and vacuumed on Christmas—two days ago—but now I saw dust and hair so deep I thought I might trip over it. No one had worn shoes in this room.
The theological implications of my discovery were oppressive; I switched off the flashlight. Perhaps the pill will surface, next time I sweep.
