My readers may recall that I, on a dark day in early December, protested the sudden silencing of The Writers Almanac and characterized that suppression of literature as a book burial. I am now at long last heartened by a Minnesota Public Radio headline:
MPR-Keillor deal
preserves Prairie Home,
Writer's Almanac archives.

I may someday comment on the ethical complexities associated with this matter; for the moment, I will unabashedly state that I will be delighted when the public is again able to read and hear The Writers Almanac on a daily basis.
