What an exhilarating experience, listening, this past Thursday, to the testimony presented by the man currently nominated to serve as a justice on the Supreme Court of the United States. I didnt hear it all, but I think I heard enough to convince me that the nominee is approximately as wise, principled, and truthful as most of the others whom our president has appointed to high office. I was impressed by the great numbers of friends that the nominee claimed had written in his support, but I was puzzled that I did not hear him mention any Catholic priests attesting to his good character or veracity.
