November 18, 1928 — October 15, 2019
Unfailingly punctual himself, my
faithful friend Flemming referred
to me as “the late Mr. Grossmann.”
His teasing never sharply stung
until today, when I, about to
phone Flemming with
wishes for his birthday,
Googled his name
just this one
last time.
