Today in Fjord, Wisconsin, the bright, breezy afternoon seemed ideal for my mowing the last patch of tall grass that I wasn’t quite able to finish on the first grass-cutting day of the season, a few dusks ago. I sincerely intended to mow today, but when I looked out the kitchen window at noon, I saw that the entire north lawn was copiously dotted with dandelions too splendiferous to disturb. I therefore chose to reschedule the grass cutting for some indefinite date in the future.
Even if the Wisconsin Supreme Court gives me the go-ahead to proceed along a path of doom sooner than that, I may choose to continue to err on the side of prudence.
