Jacquie Lawson Card. |
Dear Debbie,
This is Dave, typing for Celeste (and for himself) on Celeste's laptop, which uses the big TV in the living room as its display.
Thank you very much for your Jacquie Lawson greetings. The sheep and snowflakes and your Christmas message are all lovely.
We are not complaining, but ["Oh, for Pete's sake," cried Celeste, "you ARE complaining!" And then, seeing that I was putting this bracketed material into this email, she exclaimed, "David! I'm not going to talk to you anymore!" And, as I continued to type within these brackets, Celeste asked, "Did you fall on your head when you were a child?"]
So. As I began to say, I am not complaining, Deb, but I thought you might like to know that we (Celeste and Dave) could not figure out how to turn on the SOUND on the lovely sheep card. So we (that is, David) respectfully request that you call us on Christmas Day to hum or sing the music that was supposed to accompany the sheep and snowflakes.
We (C. and D.) listened TWICE to the sheep and snowflakes (and didn't hear anything) and then searched back through C.'s Gmail and listened TWICE EACH to the cards you sent for our anniversary, for Celeste's most recent b.d., for Christmases 2020 and 2019, skipped a few, and listened ONCE to the birthday card you sent Celeste in 2014. We enjoyed them all, the animation and the music. We were (Dave was) surprised the 2014 link still brought up a card (with music) after all these years. I would have expected
Oh, oh! Hold that thought!
... to be continued, probably, from Dave's computer.

J. Lawson Continuation. |
Hi, I'm back. I had to retreat to my office and switch to my own computer, because Celeste wanted to watch Shark Tank at 9PM. She missed the first few minutes, but, turns out, it's a rerun, and she saw it before. She's watching it anyway. I myself am not especially interested in fish.
I guess that's all for tonight. Looking forward to hearing the sheep music.
Goodnight, now.
Love, Dave

Baaa? no sound… it was a card type card. no sound. :)
I did lots of laundry today and food prep. texted with Marissa and was invited to dinner, but preferred to stay off the roads. opened a bottle of wine and tested it for suitability to take to drink tomorrow. It is good to go.
going to go clean kitchen, again, then go to bed. final food preparation in the morning.
Night-night
love, Debbie

Good morning! |
And Merry Christmas!
No snow in Fjord. Thirty-nine degrees and sunny.
Celeste and I had a breakfast of toast and jam. We are scheduled to pick up two Christmas dinners at Feil's at 10:30AM. We will bring the meals home and enjoy our holiday duplitude (estimated today to be twice as pleasant as solitude).
Thank you for your reply last night in which you explained "card type card. no sound." I am of course disappointed that C. and I will not get to hear you sing today, but perhaps another time.
Have a real good Christmas!
Love, Dave
