Each of the two older men in this photo was twenty-three years old when he first became a father. That seems a nice coincidence. The guy wearing a marathon shirt that he himself did not earn became a dad when he was thirty-two (that’s like twenty-three to someone who is dyslexic). The little fellow, four years old when I took the picture, died childless at age eighteen.
If you want to hear something more about the marathon man, a father who gave away his shirt, I think you’ll have to ask.
