Yesterday, in celebration of Christmas, and in preparation for speaking with you today, dear readers, I read again the Gospel According to St. Luke, the second chapter, in the King James, but this time all of it, and—oh, my!—what a lot to wonder about, both in the verses traditionally contemplated by Lutheran Christians and in the verses less frequently read aloud.
And then I looked at the first chapter of Luke, all of it, and I whispered again, Oh, my!
I paged ahead, to Chapter Three, and read all of that chapter, including verses twenty-three through thirty-eight, and you can guess what I said once more.

Carol and I, together with Celeste and Dave, thank you dear readers for all that you have shared with us in this year past, and, though we (principally Bud and Dave) may be tardy yet again in mailing out our greetings of the season, we all—C. and B., C. and D.—bless you with the words from above, in Luke 2:14.
