Hello, Debbie.
You asked, Is there a new booster out? I don’t know. I have lost track of how many boosters Celeste and I have had. All I know is, I was picking up a prescription last week, and I asked our pharmacist if I could get a Covid vaccine booster, and he said, Yes. Over age sixty-five, on Medicare, no charge.
I said, Good, let’s do it.
He said, But there’s supposed to be a newer version in the fall. The one in the fall, he said, will hopefully be designed to be effective against newer strains of the virus.
I said, Well, can Celeste and I get that one, too?
He said, Probably. If they have enough stocks of it, and if it’s been four months since you last got a booster, you should be able to get the new one.
I said, Good. Let’s do it.
He said, You mean you want the one I have now? Or you want to wait until the fall?
I said, Now. Let’s do it now. And we’ll do it again in the fall if I should live so long. My policy is this: A Bird in the Hand, A Shot in the Arm. Let’s do it now.
